CELEBRATION OF LIFE & MEMORIAL SERVICE
Honoring the life of a loved one who has passed away can be very emotionally difficult. While we, unfortunately, cannot offer funeral planning services, we offer a memorial or celebration of life planning services to help you heal through this trying time. Planning an event like this can be very difficult when it involves the death of someone close to you, so allow us to take on the burden of the big details while you worry about the personal ones alone.
WHAT IS A CELEBRATION OF LIFE OR MEMORIAL SERVICE?
Both memorials and celebrations of life occur after the remains have been cared for, but honor the loved one in different ways. The event may occur weeks, months or even years after the death or funeral. Both events allow a more creative approach to paying tribute to a deceased loved one. Both celebrations of life and memorial services serve to celebrate memories and achievements of the one who has passed while providing support to the bereaved as they acknowledge the death among the love of others. They work well with the addition of a ritual or special acknowledgement to commemorate the death, such as a butterfly release, unveiling of a dedicated bench or even something as simple as a video/slide show of the deceased in their best moments.
Celebration of life are less structured, more upbeat receptions that can often last for hours and encourage dancing. While they often include speeches from loved ones, they typically do not include a service from a pastor, minister or celebrant.
Memorial services are more of a hybrid between funerals and celebrations of life. They do tend to include a religious or service element with a eulogy, readings and more that may be detailed in a program. The reception lasts a few hours and does not include dancing but tends to involve music and a lighter atmosphere than a funeral.
